Social Justice Warrior: Paul Robeson
Paul Robeson once said; “As an artist I come to sing, but as a citizen, I will always speak for peace, and no one can silence me in this.” A social justice warrior is a person who promotes tolerance, fights for freedom and equality for all people, no matter what their race or gender is. Paul Robeson was an athlete and performing artist. He starred both stage and film versions of Show Boat. Robeson became popular in his singing and acting career. He spoke out against racism and became a Civil Rights Activist, but was still ignored in books, but in January of 1976 he died in Pennsylvania. My social justice warrior deserves a holiday because he was brave to speak out against racism, he was successful for being a singer, actor, and Civil Rights Activist, he was loyal to all people and he supported them.
First, Robeson was brave for the following reason. He was a social justice warrior. This man was brave, successful, and fortunate. Robeson was brave because he became involved in the Civil Rights Movement. He acted against advice which warned his ruin if he became politically active.
Robeson was successful. He used his rich bass voice to speak out for independence, freedom, and equality for all people. He met dissent when his activist role increased in the United States.
Robeson was loyal. He was loyal for supporting all people and helping them, also for speaking out to the world in order to change things.
In conclusion, Robeson was brave for participating in groups to help change things in the world, successful for using his rich bass voice to speak out to the world, and loyal for helping and supporting all people.
